Good times at the Grenadier Cafe in High Park
I haven’t been at the restaurant in quite some time and I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in to see some changes.
What a difference a year makes.
What always catches my eye is the big maple tree that’s in the middle of the restaurant. The menu and the decor have always changed.
I proceeded into the newly renovated dining room and the view in there is spectacular. I was greeted at the entry by a pleasant waitress by the name of Rebecca. She promptly took my order and five minutes later my food was delivered to the table. I ordered the bacon and three eggs which came with home fries and toast. I was shocked when I received my bill. I asked Rebecca if she made a mistake and she told me “No, that’s the price”. An unbelievable “$2.99”. I thought I was in a twilight zone. Multi million dollar restaurant, million dollar view, and they’re giving the food away at these prices.
On the way out I looked at the big restaurant menu advertising specials and I noticed they had a $9.99 soup and salad, garlic bread, and half pound steak special. I will definitely be back to try this.
PS: I think this is part of David Miller’s economic recovery plan, because at these prices, I could afford to eat here everyday.
Another great thing is that there is plenty of free parking seconds away from the restaurant.
