Bay Street Cafe Parry Sound

When we drove into Parry Sound we wanted to try a restaurant not branded so as to just feel like we didn’t do the same old same old. We drove into the main section of town and at dinner time, it was closing up being the business area.
I headed down James Street, which turns into Bay Street. We parked in the marked 2-hour free street parking spots and checked out a couple of places. We are constrained on choices by the children in our company. The menu looked pretty extensive and not anti-vegetarian.
We dined inside as their wrap-around porch was pretty full, but I can say it offers a great view of Georgian Bay.
The decor was suitably nautical as you can see by the pictures.
Food-wise, we were in a hit and miss area. The nachos were good, the salad the vegetarian ordered was OK and my Reuben sandwich and fries were good only in that the fries were good. The sandwich was not as good as other Reubens I’ve had.
My suggestion here is arrive when you can enjoy the wraparound porch, drink beer and eat nachos. No a bad way to spend the afternoon.
The Yelp ratings bear out our findings. I could not find a website for the cafe itself.
