Sarnia in a Hurry
The editors of this website asked local businesses for the essential recommendations for Sarnia. We asked them: “If you imagine that someone has come to you and they are on a totally tight time line, and asked you these questions, what would you tell them?” 1. Where should I eat that I should not miss in Sarnia? Answer:On the Front Restaurant … Front Street, Sarnia 2. If I only have time for one outdoor activity, what should I see or do in Sarnia? Answer:Winter: outdoor ice skating on Lake Chipican in Canatara Park…(off of) Christina St, Sarnia Summer: viewing the […]
Toronto’s cultural scene is vibrant!!
I moved to Toronto somewhat reluctantly a few years ago in order to study at the University of Toronto. Despite my reservations about moving to the big stale city (this is a viewpoint shared by many Westerners!), I’ve found nothing but great experiences, wonderful people and a vibrant cultural scene here. Let me tell you why culture in Toronto is booming… The opinion in general seems to be that the bigger the city, the less personal the cultural experience that one can enjoy there. In Toronto, from my perspective, because there are more events to choose from, it is simply […]
April in Ottawa
I recently was on a business trip to Ottawa, my first chance to visit the nation’s capital. I didn’t have high expectations but was pleasantly surprised by my visit. I found every person that I had cause to interact with so nice, so helpful and friendly – so Canadian! The weather was great, and you could see what an active city it is as everyone was out on their bikes, running or just walking. My favourite place was Byward Market. It was a bustling place at 10 am or 10 pm, and it reminded me of being out on European […]
Toronto Things to Do
This article is a call to all Toronto residents, former residents and visitors to share experiences about this city. Sign up on this site and let us know. I am an ex-Torontonian and have some fond memories of what you can do in and around the city. For example, there’s a terrific walk or bike ride through the parks that I used to start at Alexander Muir Park, which is near Yonge and Lawrence. (By the way, Yonge St. is the dividing point between street names that have East and West as suffixes. E.g. Lawrence Ave. West and Lawrence Avenue […]
